The story wants to describe how sometimes we don't know the people's
reasons to do something, in this case Tom King fought for his life and his
family's and Sandel for fame; and for us to start thinking in how can we act
now to get a better future.
The main problem of the story was that Tom King's family has lack of
money needed to raised their children and support them all. In addition Tom
King was a box fighter when he was younger and he seems to be some kind of
nostalgic about that, he said he didn't had a proper training and expressed how
painful and dificult it was for him.
The story has a linear sequence where is first described how was Tom
King's life and how his past was, how he suffer with every fight he faced and
now the present life, how poor they were so he had to earn some cash winning
the battle against Sandel.
Surely we can say his thinking is justified because he shows how
important is to live everyday like it was the last one and so on this present
would soon be our past but with this you can change the future to a better one.
