Mauricio M, Dany G and Claudia S.

At first we saw the portrait and we though it was a "normal" picture with nothing dramatic or simbolic compared with other Frida Kaloh´s paintings. We saw mexican traits like the outfits and colors used.
After reading more about it and seen more details we saw that there were more simbolisms. One of them is the way that Fridah is holding him and he is holding the paintings, this shows that she was more commited to the relationship than him also we deduced due to the time the painting was done that she wanted to show she was a good wife because in that time is maked her succesful as a women.
There were many critic about this painting- "When the painting was finished in 1931, a San Francisco newspaper described the work as being: "...valuable only because it was painted by the wife of Diego Rivera ". We are against this critic because he is making Fridah´s value as an artist just because she is women and giving it to Diego Rivera.
