Self-Portait Caterina van Hemessen (1548)

The self-portrait of Caterina was painted in 1548. She painted it at her early age of 20 years old and she became famous after people knew about it. Some critics think that maybe she was helped by his father because his father was a painter. This painting is famous and really important for female painters history because was the first self-portrait ever seen by a women.

This painting is also really weird because Caterina paints herself at her work station with her different tools for her to paint, and it also shows by her dressing code that she was well educated and came from a wealthy family.
