Omar Gonzalez - Dorothea Lauge / Migrant Mother

This is a work by Dorothea, she was a famous photographer who was recognized for her depression-era work this picture by her is entitled "Migrant mother" and this is a strong visual that we get. This photo shows the image of a mother surrounded by her two sons who are suffering from hunger, this women had just sold the last thing she owned in order to provide food to her sons (which leads to believe she was a single mom, although we don't know with certainty that she was) and Dorothea approached this mother because she fault drawn to her she felt the need to portray this poor woman's life. The woman did not complain or said anything about Dorothea photographing her she just told her her age which was 32. This to me is a heartbreaking image, just the thought of what that family is going through makes me feel like I want to do something to help them, and this was common on Dorothea's work, she would portray things in a very raw manner.
