Violence- The hyena eats every part of the maid leaving just the feet and the face.
Wild Animals- The hyena is a wild animal, and it appears in this part of the story.
Dreams- Carrington imagines the death of the maid eaten by the hyena.
The literary techniques that she used in this part of the story are:
Speaking Animals, Illogical Events, Lack of moral.
Speaking Animals- The hyena talks and says that she can't eat anymore.
Illogical Events- A talking hyena, and the maid being murdered by the hyena.
Lack of Moral- Carrington prefers to kill the maid so the hyena dresses up as her, rather than attending the ball.
